Experience: Brenda is a trained Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with children, adults and families. She gained most of her experience working in the child welfare arena, specializing in family violence, using various approaches to intervene and stabilize families. Her practice is active and engaging throughout the life of the work, sessions are collaborative and tailored to the needs of the individual or family, addressing race, culture, religion and other systemic factors that can impact social, emotional , physical and educational needs of the client/family.
Brenda’s extensive training includes a MSW from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She received Bachelors of Social Work from Savannah State College. She has been licensed in Virginia since 2005. She completed her psychotherapist training from the Washington School of Psychiatry training program, Seeing the Unseen in Clinical Work.
